    It’s time to kick back and start the weekend the right way. From fun-filled events and live entertainment to great food, family-friendly plans and things to do outdoors, here are the best things to do in Dubai from Friday, January 16 to Sunday, January 18

    A new weekly ritual: Sundays at 73 at Mott 32

    Mott 32 introduces Sundays at 73, a relaxed yet refined Sunday lunch, running every Sunday in January from 12.30pm to 4pm. Expect a three-course set menu showcasing modern Cantonese flavours.

    The meal starts with sharing-style starters, followed by six handcrafted dim sum, including King Prawn Har Gow and duck dumplings. Choose a main such as Chinese Five Spices Duck or King Prawns in Black Pepper & Garlic Sauce, and finish with a light assorted sorbet.

    Neon Night Brunch at Sip Song

    Get ready for a Friday night brunch with a twist. Neon Night Brunch brings bold Thai flavours, glowing vibes and free-flowing drinks to Sip Song at Rixos JBR. Expect a three-course menu, unlimited beverages and a DJ spinning all night, making it the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

    Nobu One Za’abeel is opening

    Dubai’s highly anticipated Nobu One Za’abeel opens on Saturday, January 17. Nobu’s third Dubai location sits 230m above ground in The Link at One Za’abeel, offering skyline views, iconic dishes, and a buzzing late-night lounge with DJs and extended bar hours.

    Expect Nobu classics like black cod miso, yellowtail jalapeño and wagyu, plus exclusive new creations for this venue.

    New Mexican restaurant Sobremesa opens in Souk Al Bahar

    Downtown Dubai just got a new hotspot. Sobremesa, a playful take on Latin American cuisine, is now open in Souk Al Bahar.

    The menu features comfort classics with a twist — think truffled quesadillas with Oaxaca cheese and avocado salsa or duck carnita tacos with BBQ sauce, jalapeño aioli and pickled onion. Perfect for sharing, tasting and lingering.

    Drinks are just as creative, with fun twists on classic cocktails. Interiors mix charred wood, flickering bar sparks and a glowing digital sun, creating a stylish yet relaxed vibe.
