    Another brawl has kicked off among soccer supporters, this time at the CAF Confederation Cup game between Stellenbosch FC and Zamalek at the Cape Town Stadium.

    The fight comes a day after fans of Tunisian club Esperance attacked Mamelodi Sundowns supporters at Loftus on Tuesday.

    FIGHT KICKS OFF AT CAPE TOWN STADIUM

    On Wednesday, Stellenbosch FC took on Egyptian club Zamalek at the Cape Town Stadium.

    Despite an action-packed game, it ended in a 0-0 draw. However, tensions seemingly spilled over into the stands, where Zamalek fans appeared to squabble amongst themselves.

    Soon, fists began to fly, and stadium security and police were called in to intervene.

    On the X app, South Africans were shocked at what they saw…

    @LordPiccoloSA: “First it was Pretoria, now Cape Town. Security must be tight at Orlando [Stadium]”.

    @amleketi: “What’s wrong with these northern supporters? They want to intimidate you in your own yard.  The message they are saying is don’t come to our country for the return leg”.

    @RudolfMbanjwa: “This is such a disgrace. What kind of shameful behaviour from visitors is this? Bottom of the barrel stuff!”

    @ThulzMtetwa: “Stadium security is horrible!”

    BLOODY BRAWL AT LOFTUS

    Just a day before the chaos in Cape Town, similar scenes played out in Loftus.

    After the final whistle blew, Esperance fans kicked off a mob attack against a group of Sundowns supporters after their club lost to the South African rivals.

    The heated and violent clash saw punches thrown,  as well as bottles and barricades that the Tunisian soccer supporters dismantled. The North African fans also lit flares, which they launched at their opposition.

    According to Sowetan, police and security intervened, and a medical crew treated injured fans.

    Spectators at the game claimed that the “unruly” Esperance fans – described as “hooligans” reportedly arrived at Loftus heavily intoxicated.

    DO YOU THINK THAT THE CAPE TOWN STADIUM ADEQUATELY DEALT WITH THE SOCCER HOOLIGANS?
