On Thursday, August 14, 2025, the University of Lagos hosted the 20th edition of the Unilag Carnival, an annual celebration of music, dance, art, and heritage that has become a defining tradition for the student community. This year, CloseUp participated as a key sponsor, bringing its “Closer Is Better” campaign to life in a way that showcased cultural pride, creativity, and youthful self-expression.

From the first notes of the parade to the final wave of the crowd, CloseUp’s presence was impossible to miss. The fully branded Vibe Bus rolled through campus like a moving heartbeat pulsing with music, laughter, and colour to keep the energy high as students, dressed in elaborate costumes, danced alongside colourful smoke bursts and carnival rhythms.Inside the Main Bowl at the Indoor Sports Centre, the CloseUp booth became a natural gathering point. Its red-and-white palette, playful carnival accents, and interactive spaces drew in students eager to take photos, try their luck at the spin-the-wheel game, or get a burst of colour from the face-painting station.

Throughout the day, the brand’s message remained clear: closer is better, and when you feel your best, you connect more deeply. By nightfall, the campus grounds were quieter, but the energy remained, carried in the voices, photos, and shared moments that would live on far beyond the day.For CloseUp, being part of the 20th Unilag Carnival was not just a masterclass in brand presence; it was an investment in a generation unafraid to stand tall in who they are, where they come from, and how boldly they choose to connect. In every sense, it was a celebration of culture, confidence, and the beauty of being closer.Stay fresh. Stay confident. Stay CloseUp.
