Trying to eat better this January but still craving something sweet? These guilt-free desserts in Dubai prove you don’t have to give up flavour to stay on track

Yes, it’s January and yes, that means a month of fresh starts and new resolutions… but let’s be honest, after all those festive feasts, most of us promised ourselves, “I’m eating healthy next year.” The good news? It can deliver the same satisfaction… without the guilt. From creamy dairy-free desserts to naturally sweetened bakes, Dubai is full of treats that hit the spot without undoing all your good intentions.

Crazy Coconut and Fancy Choco from House of Pops

We like a bit of fancy. Looking for a healthier alternative to ice-cream?

House of Pops has a line of hand-crafted, vegan pops made with just five ingredients, with fruit taking centre stage. Two of their best-sellers are the Crazy Coconut (Dhs20), a creamy tropical delight with fresh shredded coconut that tastes light, and the Fancy Choco (Dhs20), made with 100% cocoa powder and a touch of organic coconut milk for chocolate lovers. Both are rich in fibre, plant-based, and free from preservatives, soy and gluten, making them super refreshing.

Where: Various locations across Dubai (including JBR Beach and Kite Beach, as well as online delivery via Careem and Deliveroo)

Tiramisu Crepes Cake and Carrot with Caramel Cake from Angel Cakes

You had us at tiramisu and cake.

Angel Cakes has mastered desserts that look indulgent but leave you feeling pleasantly light afterwards. The Tiramisu Crepes Cake (Dhs55) layers paper-thin crepes with airy coffee cream and a touch of salted caramel, elegant, balanced and easy to finish. If you are after something a little more fun, the Carrot with Caramel Cake (Dhs55) is comfort done cleverly. Spiced carrot cake meets smooth caramel cream, finished with a drizzle of salted caramel and crunchy nuts.

Where: Various locations across Dubai (including Bluewaters Island and Dubai Hills Mall)

Double Fudge Brownies & Brookie from Swirl Bakehouse

    Mmmm, brownie… and what’s a Brookie?

Sometimes the best treats are the ones that come to you. Swirl Bakehouse is a delivery-only bakery specialising in artisanal bakes that are gluten-free and made without refined sugar. Their Double Fudge Brownies (Dhs25 each) are rich, gooey and genuinely hard to believe they fall into the better-for-you category. Can’t decide? The Brookie (Dhs30), half cookie, half brownie, is the answer. They come in boxes of six (Dhs110), nine (Dhs160), or 12 (Dhs210), perfect for sharing or keeping all to yourself.

Where: Available on Delivery apps such as Deliveroo

Blueberry Cheesecake (Sugar-Free) from Novikov Café

It has blueberries so it must be healthy.

Yes, it is another cheesecake, but this one earns its place. Novikov Café’s sugar-free Blueberry Cheesecake is the kind of dessert that makes sticking to your resolution feel surprisingly easy. Free from allergens and sweetened with natural alternatives, it delivers all the pleasure without the usual guilt. The baked cheesecake has a silky sour-cream base, a delicate crumbly crust and a glossy blueberry topping that feels properly indulgent. It is proof that you do not have to say no to dessert, just choose it wisely.

    Where: Dubai Mall

Low-licious Cheesecake with Strawberries from the Cheesecake Factory

It says it all: low calories and delicious.

If cheesecake is your go-to, but January has you rethinking your choices, this one feels like a small win. The Cheesecake Factory’s low-carb cheesecake delivers everything you want from a proper slice: creamy, rich and smooth, without the sugar hit. Add fresh strawberries if you fancy a little extra brightness on the side. At Dhs35.50 (or Dhs28.50 without strawberries), it is a satisfying way to indulge while keeping your New Year intentions intact.

Where: Various locations across Dubai (including Dubai Mall, JBR Walk)
