Need to use the Palm Monorail?

The Palm Monorail has been temporarily taken out of operation, as confirmed in a story shared on the line’s official Instagram account, @palmmonorail. The suspension is due to ongoing maintenance works, and services will remain paused until further notice.

In the update, the operator advised passengers that the monorail will not be running while maintenance is carried out, adding that updates will be shared once operations are ready to resume.

With the monorail currently offline, commuters and visitors are encouraged to rely on taxis and buses to reach destinations across Palm Jumeirah.

At present, there is no confirmed date for the return of normal services. Travellers are advised to monitor the Palm Monorail’s official social channels for the latest announcements.

This story will be updated as soon as further information is released.

In other transport news, Etihad Rail just unveiled the locations of seven new stations

Etihad Rail has confirmed the sites of seven additional passenger stations, bringing the total number of announced stops across the country to 11. The network will form the UAE’s first nationwide passenger train service and is expected to significantly improve travel between the emirates.

The newly announced stations will be located in Al Sila, Al Dhannah, Al Mirfa, Madinat Zayed, Mezairaa, Al Faya and Al Dhaid. These additions build on four stations that were previously revealed: Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, University City in Sharjah, and Al Hilal in Fujairah.

According to Khaleej Times, the passenger service will be rolled out in phases and, once fully operational, will connect 11 cities across the UAE. Etihad Rail has said the station locations were carefully selected to ensure key areas within each emirate are well linked.
