The Hollywoodbets Super League delivered thrills and 21 goals this past weekend, but the headline result of the weekend came from JVW FC, who stunned defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies in a major upset lighting up the pitch in Week 17 of the Hollywoodbets Super League, on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June, 2025.

JVW stunned defending champions Sundowns Ladies 2-1 when Gabriela Salgado and Jessica Wade each scored in the first half to secure a statement result for the first-ever JVW win over the defending champs, while Melinda Kgadiete netted the consolation for Sundowns.

Another dramatic clash came at Westbourne Oval Stadium, where City Lads edged Royal AM Ladies 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller. Shantell Ntimane bagged a sensational hat-trick to put City Lads 4-0 ahead before Royal AM launched a spirited comeback that ultimately fell short.

Copperbelts Ladies bounced back from their loss to AmaTuks with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Richmond United, courtesy of Nomphelo Yakuphi’s decisive strike.

University of Pretoria enjoyed a dominant afternoon, thrashing Durban Ladies 4-0. Molatelo Kobo netted a brace, while Machaka Makua and Rethabile Ngcobo also got on the scoresheet. Durban Ladies remain the only team without a win this season and continue to struggle at the bottom of the table.
