FROM singing in front of Idols SA judges to interviewing big names on TikTok.
Ga-Rankuwa-born entertainer Kelz K is proving that one closed door can lead to another exciting opportunity.
The 22-year-old star, whose real name is Keletso Mabiletsa, juggles two passions — music and presenting — and is fast making a name for herself as a presenter on Grooviest Corner on TikTok.
Idols journey reignites music dream
Her journey started while she was in grade 11.
In 2021, the young singer auditioned forIdols SA and made it close to the Top 16.
Although Kelz didn’t walk away with the grand prize, the experience reignited her love for music.
When the show aired, I knew that even though I didn’t go through or win the money, I’m still content with what I’m doing.

Kelz later returned to music through TikTok, where she began posting covers and receiving positive feedback from viewers.
What started casually soon became serious
“I started singing there and getting compliments,” she said.
Now, the covers have made way for original music, with Kelz currently in the studio working on her own material.
She is planning to release a single in September and is also considering an EP if everything goes according to plan.
However, music is not the only stage where Keletso shine.
Making her mark as a presenter
The young presenter is celebrating her first year in the entertainment-presenting space, where she interviews celebs and keeps followers updated on the latest entertainment umgosi.
I felt like it’s something that’s not going to lose interest very soon. People are interested in knowing what’s happening in that one celebrity’s life.

Kelz said the love from her growing audience has been overwhelming and has motivated her to keep pushing.
“I feel lucky that I didn’t give up quickly,” she said.
She is already dreaming bigger and hopes to collaborate with some of Mzansi’s big-name music stars.
