Start the year strong with RunYAS 2026 where Abu Dhabi’s iconic Yas Marina Circuit turns into a community running festival

If your New Year’s resolutions are already wobbling, here’s a good excuse to lace up and get moving. On Sunday January 11, Yas Marina Circuit hands the track over to the people for RunYAS 2026. RunYAS is back, and it’s shaping up to be one of those feel good mornings where everyone shows up. Families. Schools. Serious runners. Organised by Ethara in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre, the idea is simple. Start the year moving. Cross a finish line. Feel like a champion, even if your legs disagree.

The beauty of RunYAS is that there’s a category for everyone, from tiny humans to seasoned athletes. For the kids, there’s Yas Kids. These 1k and 2k races are exclusive to Abu Dhabi schools and sports clubs, and only open to under 14s. Then, if you prefer strength in numbers, the Yas Relay lets teams of three split the famous track between them.

The crowd favourite is the Yas Lap, where you’ll do one full lap of the circuit, all 5.281km of it. Cross the line and you walk away with a bespoke RunYAS Champions T-shirt by Capelli Sport.

For those who like to push harder, there’s the Yas 10k. It’s ideal for advanced runners, training plans and anyone who enjoys starting the year with a solid test of willpower.

With 2026 declared the Year of the Family, the timing feels right. This is not about podiums or personal bests. It’s about community, fresh air and starting the year on a high that does not involve a sofa. The circuit is waiting. The finish line is calling. Just show up and run.

    The Details:

Location: Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Island

    Time: 7am

Cost: Yas Relay: Dhs190 per person; Yas Lap: Dhs220; Yas10k: Dhs260
