EFF leader Julius Malema has extended a bold invitation to KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi: join the EFF if dismissed from his post. This comes after Mkhwanazi made explosive allegations of widespread corruption involving senior SAPS officials, the judiciary, and organised crime syndicates.
Speaking at the party’s 12th anniversary rally in Khayelitsha, Western Cape, Malema publicly backed Mkhwanazi and praised his bravery.

“We say to Mkhwanazi, do not be shaken, because if they fire you, there’s a position for you in the EFF so that you can continue to fight corruption in South Africa,” said Malema.
“General Mkhwanazi should know that there’s only one hope for the fearless – and that hope is the EFF.”
Parliament Launches Inquiry Into Corruption Allegations
Mkhwanazi’s claims have sparked a political firestorm. In response, Parliament has established an ad hoc portfolio committee — with EFF participation — to probe the allegations.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has also taken swift action by placing Police Minister Senzo Mchunu on special leave and appointing Wits law professor Firoz Cachalia as acting police minister, effective 1 August.
Ramaphosa has further announced the formation of a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the corruption claims thoroughly.
Malema emphasized that the ad hoc committee must pursue all leads and dig deep into the evidence presented by Mkhwanazi and others.

“That ad hoc committee is going to investigate all the allegations levelled by Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, and every other relevant piece of information that exists in society must come to Parliament,” he said.

Malema Urges Citizens to Speak Out Against Drug Lords and Violence
Malema used the rally to issue a broader call to action. He encouraged communities to assist Parliament in uncovering drug lords and their protectors, particularly in crime-ridden areas like Mitchells Plain, the Cape Flats, and Khayelitsha.
“We want the people of Mitchells Plain to come to Parliament and tell us who the drug lords are, and who is protecting them, because we need to start fighting drugs,” he said.

He also addressed the ongoing gun violence in the Western Cape. “We want to know where the guns come from in the Cape Flats, in Khayelitsha. You, the people, know the truth. This is the time, this is the platform to expose the rot. Do not be scared,” he urged.
“The killing of our children must be stopped now. Mkhwanazi opened the way, and we must join him to restore peace and order in South Africa.”
