African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula has urged party members to stand firm against those who misuse the ANC’s name for selfish or criminal purposes.

Speaking at the reburial service of anti-apartheid activists Todd Matshikiza, Sheila Matshikiza, and John Maroo at Johannesburg City Hall on Saturday, Mbalula delivered a strong message of integrity and discipline within the movement.

He emphasised that the ANC’s name should not be associated with corruption or wrongdoing, saying the party’s reputation must be protected at all costs.

“Not in Our Name,” Declares Mbalula

Mbalula made it clear that the ANC would not tolerate individuals who exploit its name for personal enrichment.

“We must be bold to say to those who use the name of our movement to enrich themselves by stealing from the poor and committing criminal acts. Not in our name. Even if a comrade can be your best friend, your best relative, not in our name,” he said.
