By many people, Ronaldo is considered one of the best players ever. He has won the Ballon d’Or 5 times, second only to Leonel Messi who has won 6 times. He started his career at Sporting CP in his home country of Portugal, before moving to Manchester United at the age of 18. After winning the FA Cup in his first season, he helped United win three successive Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup. He was given David Beckhams old number 7 jersey there. Then in 2009, he made a transfer that would change his entire career.

He joined Real Madrid for 94 Million dollars. He then went on to win 15 trophies, including two La Liga titles, two Copas del Rey, and four UEFA Champions League titles and became the club’s all-time top goalscorer. After joining Madrid, Ronaldo finished runner-up for the Ballon d’Or three times, behind Lionel Messi – his perceived career rival – before winning back-to-back Ballons d’Or from 2013–2014 and again from 2016–2017. After winning a third consecutive Champions League title in 2018, Ronaldo became the first player to win the trophy five times. He captained his country to win its very first Euro in 2016, beating France 1-0 in the final. But it was time for him to move on again.

In 2018, he signed for Juventus in a transfer worth an initial €100 million (£88 million), the highest fee ever paid by an Italian club and the highest ever paid for a player over 30 years old. He won two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana, and a Coppa Italia in his first three seasons with the club. He is now 36 but he is still scoring plenty of goals winning top scorer in the 2020/21 Serie A season.
