Shamwari Private Game Reserve has officially joined the Rare Finds portfolio.

This marks a significant shift in the management of one of South Africa’s most celebrated conservation-led safari destinations. From 1 April, Kerzner International will assume management of Shamwari’s hospitality division as the reserve becomes part of Kerzner’s Rare Finds collection. The transition also includes the integration of Shamwari Air into Kerzner’s global commercial platform, expanding the reserve’s international reach.

For visitors, the promise remains clear. Shamwari will continue to position itself at the forefront of conservation-driven experiential luxury, offering immersive wildlife encounters across its 25 000-hectare Big Five reserve in the Eastern Cape. The move is expected to unlock broader global exposure for the destination while maintaining its long-standing commitment to wildlife rehabilitation, biodiversity protection and community upliftment.

As part of the Rare Finds collection, Shamwari joins a curated portfolio of distinctive properties known for place-led storytelling and high-end hospitality. The emphasis remains on meaningful travel — connecting guests to landscape, heritage and conservation in ways that extend beyond the traditional safari template.

Reservations remain open via [email protected], by phone on +27 (0)42 203 1111, or online at www.shamwari.com.
