The Sharks have confirmed Grant Williams’ replacement ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Springbok scrumhalf Ivan van Zyl returns to South Africa having made over 100 appearances for Saracens since joining the English Premiership club from the Vodacom Bulls at the start of the 2020-21 season.

The 30-year-old scored a decisive try against the Sale Sharks in the 2022-23 Premiership final at Twickenham as Saracens lifted the trophy.

He went on to captain the club on numerous occasions in the Premiership and Investec Champions Cup while reaching 100 caps last season against Bath.

Van Zyl earned all six of his Test caps in 2018.
