Xolani Khumalo, best known as the former presenter of the reality TV show Sizok’thola, has officially entered the political arena.
ActionSA President Herman Mashaba announced on Saturday that Khumalo will stand as the party’s mayoral candidate for the City of Ekurhuleni in the 2026 Local Government Elections.

Khumalo emphasised that job creation would be at the heart of his plans for the city. He highlighted township enterprise hubs as a key driver for economic growth and a boost for small businesses.

“I will cut the red tape that keeps investors away and make this city efficient again. We will build a local economy that puts South Africans first,” he said.

Khumalo outlined his vision for improving service delivery, saying basic needs would be prioritised.

“We must restore dignity to our families by upgrading informal settlements, starting with light for safety. Clean water, sanitation, those are things that are necessary that we need as humans that are living in our society. Those are the things that are going to happen. These are not dreams,” he said.
The newly announced candidate also vowed to intensify the fight against drugs and crime in the city, stressing his commitment to making Ekurhuleni safer.
