    Team SA are in action at the Deaflympics in Tokyo competing across four sports – track and field athletics, golf, table tennis and swimming.

    RESULTS SO FAR

    ATHLETICS

    Men

    High jump: Ronnie Shabalala cleared 1.80m at the first attempt but failed in three attempts at 1.83m and finished 9th in the one-off high jump final

    100m: Karabo Moeletsi qualified for the semi-finals where he finished 6th in his race in 11.32 and didn’t progress to the final

    100m: Aobakwe Mphahlele was eliminated in the heats with a time of 12.37

    100m: Obakeng Thlako was eliminated in the heats with a time of 11.87

    Women

    100m: Nikysha Pieters was eliminated in the heats, in 13.77

    GOLF 

    Men: Charles Williams shot rounds of 85, 79 and 86 for a total of 34-over-par 250, which is 45 strokes behind the gold medallist, Germany’s John Allen 

    Women: Gail Klichowicz rounds of 105, 111 and 107 for a total of 107-over-par 323, with India’s Diksha Dagar winning gold with a 11-under-par score

    SWIMMING

    Men

    50m butterfly, heats: James Willers touched the wall in 31.28 to finish 42nd on the overall list of qualifiers and didn’t progress to the semi-finals

    Women

    200m IM, heats: Kate Allwood had a time of 3:01.82 to finish 19th on the overall list of qualifiers and didn’t progress to the semi-finals
