ActionSA has taken decisive action by firing 22 councillors across Gauteng’s major municipalities for failing to deliver on their duties. The party confirmed that 18 councillors were removed from the City of Johannesburg, while two were dismissed in Tshwane and another two in Ekurhuleni.
This major shake-up comes as ActionSA gears up for the upcoming local government elections, signalling a strict performance-based approach within its ranks.

Mashaba Reinforces Accountability and Performance
Speaking at an event in Tembisa on Saturday, ActionSA president Herman Mashaba emphasised that the party would not tolerate mediocrity or poor performance from its representatives.

“I am sure if you guys (media) go to your libraries you will see Herman Mashaba, personally, at the beginning of this year, going from all the caucuses, regions and provinces – making sure that people understand that we are going to put them on KPIs (key performance index) and those who do not meet a certain bar, unfortunately we have to remove them and bring in those who are able, capable to serve society,” Mashaba said.
