We have reached the finish line for the group stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. After Saturday’s action, every team still playing will know what its path to glory looks like
To fill in the final spots in the knockout bracket, we start the day with Group L. England will face an already-eliminated Panama, aiming for maximum points and goals to stay ahead of Ghana. The Ghanaians will take on Croatia, with both sides hoping to secure guaranteed advancement as a second-place team
Then it’s on to Group K, where Portugal can leapfrog Colombia — who currently sit in first place — with a victory. DR Congo will take on already-eliminated Uzbekistan, and a win would likely put them in a good position to advance as a third-place team
We’ll see out the opening stage of the tournament with Group J. Argentina will face Jordan with both teams’ fates already sealed — the Argentines atop the group and the Jordanians at the bottom. Algeria and Austria will battle for second place and a spot in the Round of 32, which promptly begins Sunday
