Independence Hall in Philadelphia, where the document was adopted, remains central to this year’s celebrations, alongside sites tied to the Revolutionary War such as Fort Ticonderoga and Saratoga in New York, and Thomas Jefferson’s estate, Monticello, in Charlottesville, Virginia. Organizers have said this year’s events will also spotlight Indigenous and African American history alongside the traditional Revolutionary War narrative, aiming to reflect a broader account of the nation’s founding. Who’s Performing at this year’s celebrations? The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum will host one of the flagship “Block Party” events on July 4, featuring performances by Chris Stapleton, The Smashing Pumpkins, Maren Morris and Anthony Ramos, with Chaka Khan as a special guest, according to NBC Los Angeles. Queen Latifah will host the evening, which will close with a fireworks and drone show. Tickets are priced at $17.76, a reference to the year of the Declaration’s signing. In South Florida, performers including Shaggy, Ashanti, Ja Rule, 112 and The Fray are set to headline Miami’s “250 United” celebration, which runs into a midnight fireworks display, according to CBS Miami.
