    AFCON 2027: Boost for Ugandan Businesses as Deadline is Extended for Prospective Service Providers

    Ugandan firms looking to win service tenders for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations have an extra month to register their interest after the deadline was extended

    Ugandan entrepreneurs looking to cash in on the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2027) have received a boost after the deadline to register companies that will bid for service tenders was extended.

    The Uganda AFCON 2027 Local Organising Committee (LOC) has extended the deadline amid increased interest from businesses in the country as the nation prepares for the tournament, which it will co-host with Uganda and Tanzania.

    The LOC announced the extension of the registration deadline up to August 31, giving interested firms an extra month, having previously stated that July 31 would be the final date.

    “DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 30 AUGUST 2026. Get your company registered and position your business to tap into the opportunities presented by AFCON 2027. Register today and be part of the business opportunities around Africa’s biggest football spectacle,”the Uganda AFCON 2027 LOC stated.

    Once the companies register, they will be in pole position to bid for various services at AFCON 2027 when the tender process is opened.

    Among the services that will be offered at the tournament is catering, translation, broadcast facilities, ticket solutions, equipment and services, medical health services, hotel and accommodation, as well as IT and technology solutions.

    Others are; branding, printing and signage, management support services, hospitality, transport and logistics, events operations, fan zone management, office supply equipment among others.

    Uganda has yet to know how many matches it will host but the country has already expressed interest in staging the opening ceremony with the Mandela National Stadium and Hoima City Stadium set to be the main venues for the tournament.
