Priyanka Chopra was happy to oblige one of Nick Jonas’ strange requests early on.
In a July 14 appearance on the”Hey Jonas!” podcast, the 43-year-old “Baywatch” star recalled a moment at the beginning of her romance with Nick where he asked her to send a picture to verify her identity.
“He wanted to corroborate it was actually me. So he asked me for a photo (in) that moment, looking into the camera with a time stamp, by the way,” she said. “I was like, ‘This guy’s so sus of me already.’ Like ugh. But I appreciated it too.”
The couple wed in December 2018 following a brief engagement and welcomed their daughter, Malti,me at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars party after months of texting
Nick Jonas, 33, said he slid into her DMs on X, then known as Twitter, after seeing her face on a billboard.
“Kevin says, ‘Have you seen the show ‘Quantico?’ And I said, ‘I have not.’ And then as he’s talking about it, I look up on Sunset Boulevard and there’s a billboard of your face,” Nick Jonas said. “And so then I got to Twitter and I’m like, ‘I wonder if she follows me.’ Which you did. … And then I sent you a direct message.”
“Hey Jonas!” co-hosts and Nick Jonas’ brothers, Joe and Kevin, read the couple’s first exchange aloud for the audience, which included a subtle invitation to move the eventual couple’s conversation off the platform.
“So, we started texting, and then it’s not till about a year and a half later that we started dating. And then eventually got engaged,” Nick Jonas added.
Nick Jonas says first date with Priyanka was a ‘group hang’
Nick Jonas wanted his first date with Priyanka to be as chill as possible, so he made it a “group hang.” The “Jealous” singer invited his future wife and a group of their friends to a live performance of “Beauty and the Beast” at the Hollywood Bowl.
“I was like, ‘But let’s bring some friends so there’s less pressure.’ So it was like a group hang in case it wasn’t the vibe,” Nick Jonas said in a March episode of the “Therapuss” podcast. “And so she brought her best friend. I brought Kevin and another couple friends of ours, Greg and Paris, and we had like the absolute best time at the show.”
Kevin Jonas confirmed his brother’s story, revealing that he “wingmanned so hard” he got sick.
“I wingmanned hard. I wingmanned so hard I threw up in the bathroom and rallied,” he said in a June episode of “Hey Jonas!”
