Rising music star Esoterica is marking another feat in her rapidly growing music career as the latest artiste to be featured in Apple Music’s Up Next artist development programme in Nigeria. The Lagos-based alt-pop artiste was announced as the latest spotlight act, featuring on their curated global playlist for emerging talent.

As the latest act to be spotlighted in Nigeria, Esoterica will be featured across Apple Music’s Up Next playlist. The curated playlist features a dynamic class of new and emerging artists, thoughtfully hand-picked by Apple Music editors from around the world. The playlist is genre agnostic and represents a line-up of artists Apple is passionate about and eager to expose to a larger audience.

The singer-songwriter began her musical journey in London in 2019 before relocating to Lagos a year later. Beyond her music, she co-founded the independent music collective Space, which has helped spotlight emerging alternative acts such as Braye and Rigo Kamp.

Since releasing her debut single, ‘Goldmine’, in 2023, Esoterica has continued to build momentum with songs including ‘Think I Might’, ‘Decisions’, ‘She Said’ and ‘Time of My Life’, which featured on Peruzzi’s Sabali album. She also released her latest single, ‘4 Days’, last month.

This summer, Esoterica is set to release her six-track EP Avant-God, a project that reflects the experimental and emotionally expansive approach that has defined her artistry to date. Running parallel to the release is “Existing

For Free”, her live music platform dedicated to amplifying African women’s voices through intimate live showcases and community-driven experiences in Lagos and beyond.
