The Delhi High Court has issued suspension orders against two judicial officers over allegations of misconduct.

The two judges are district judge Veena Rani posted at Saket court and district judge Vinay Singhal serving at Tis Hazari Courts.

The Delhi High Court passed the suspension order against Singhal on July 10 and against Rani on July 15.

According to Times of India, Rani is facing allegations of forum shopping.

As per the same report, Singhal is facing allegations of misconduct in the process of appointing court auctioneers. He allegedly appointed ineligible persons as court auctioneers and allowing them to receive inflated payment.

In the suspension orders, the High Court stated that disciplinary proceedings will be held against the two judges.

The Court has suspended them with immediate effect under All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1969 and the Delhi Higher Judicial Services Rules.

It has further been directed that Rani shall report to the office of the principal district & sessions judge, South-East District, Saket as her headquarters during the suspension period.

With respect to Singhal, the Court has directed that his headquarters shall be principal district & sessions judge, Tis Hazari Courts.

The High Court has also prohibited the two judges from leaving Delhi without its permission.
