Africa GreenCo agrees Sanlam investment and launches ZamWatt

South Africa’s Sanlam has made a $10m equity investment in Africa GreenCo, valuing it at $100m. Lusaka-based trader GreenCo has recently signed two new agreements for utility-scale renewable energy power plants, continuing its push into Southern African Power Pool markets. In its core Zambian market, GreenCo is also part of the new ZamWatt renewables platform and has taken on a lead role in the new grid resilience programme, write Gerald Hamuyayi in Lusaka and Marc Howard in Cape Town
