Africa’s digital future will take centre stage at the fourth edition of TechCabal’s Moonshot conference, where leading figures from the technology, finance and regulatory sectors will join founders, investors and policymakers to explore the continent’s next phase of digital growth.
The organisers have confirmed that Flutterwave Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Olugbenga Agboola, and MTN Nigeria Chief Executive Officer, Karl Toriola, are among the first set of speakers announced for Moonshot 2026, scheduled to be held on 28 and 29 October, at the National Theatre, Lagos.
The conference, organised by TechCabal, will run under the theme ‘Courage & Conviction: Building for a New World’, focusing on how African technology companies can move beyond growth narratives to building globally competitive businesses and institutions.
Other confirmed speakers include Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Grey, Idorenyin Obong, Africa Lead at OpenAI, Emmanuel Lubanzadio, Director-General of Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission, Dr Emomotimi Agama, Managing Partner and Head of DPI Venture Capital, Ashley Lewis, Founder and Creative Director of Dye Lab, Rukky Ladoja, Group Chief Executive Officer of The uLesson Group, Sim Shagaya, and Executive Head of Marketing at Nedbank Africa, Tatiana Ndlovu.
The organisers said the gathering would examine how African businesses can transition from participating in the global technology economy to creating and owning more value through innovation, infrastructure and technology-driven solutions.
Obong said building for a changing world would require collaboration across industries, markets and disciplines.
“Building for a new world requires more than bold ideas; it requires collaboration across industries, disciplines and markets,” Obong said, adding that Moonshot provides a platform for partnerships that can shape Africa’s innovation ecosystem.
Chief Executive Officer of Big Cabal Media, Tomiwa Aladekomo, said Africa’s technology sector had moved beyond questions of survival following funding adjustments and global market changes.
“The question now is whether we build with the courage to own more of the value we create, not just adapt to a world that keeps changing around us,” Aladekomo said.
Moonshot 2026 will feature nine content tracks covering emerging technologies, future of commerce, big technology and enterprise, government and policy, investor-focused discussions, creative economy, clean technology and climate, startup innovation, and technology careers.
Discussions will focus on areas including artificial intelligence, infrastructure, climate technology and commerce, with participants expected to explore how founders, investors and policymakers can build sustainable companies and strengthen Africa-first innovation.
Since launching in 2023, Moonshot by TechCabal has grown into one of Africa’s major technology gatherings, attracting more than 7,500 founders, investors, policymakers, operators and creatives from over 20 countries.
The 2026 edition is supported by Breet, Flutterwave, OPay and Raenest, with additional speakers and programme details expected to be announced ahead of the event.
