This partnership aims to combine Angola Cables’ robust submarine cable infrastructure incorporating the SACS, MONET, and WACS system to enable extended network reach across Uniti’s extensive terrestrial fibre network within the US.

Angola Cables,  a leading provider of subsea cable systems and international connectivity solutions, has announced that it has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Uniti Wholesale  in the U.S. Uniti is a premier fibre provider dedicated to delivering the high-capacity connectivity solutions customers need to power mission-critical networks across the United States.

This partnership aims to combine Angola Cables’ robust submarine cable infrastructure incorporating the SACS, MONET, and WACS system to enable extended network reach across Uniti’s extensive terrestrial fibre network within the US.

According to Ângelo Gama, CEO of Angola Cables, the partnership will deliver several benefits for wholesale customers, enterprises, content providers, and carriers across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe as the arrangement will provide these entities with access to Uniti’s nationwide network, including more than 300 metro markets and 386,000km fibre route infrastructure.

“This direct connectivity will be especially beneficial for companies operating in the upstream oil & gas sector for example, who require stable and secure digital connectivity to share sensitive and proprietary data about their oil & gas exploration operations off the coast of Africa or South America.”

    – Ângelo Gama, CEO, Angola Cables

Gama notes that the same would apply to businesses across other industries from aviation and transport and logistics to those companies in the health sector working with US companies in the development and supply of medical equipment and precision instruments to other developing markets.

“Secure, multi-gigabyte international connections are now vital for enterprises expanding into foreign markets or for connecting to their international networks and operations.”

    – Ângelo Gama, CEO, Angola Cables

Gama says that Uniti and Angola Cables can deliver customized, cloud-enabled connectivity, communications and a full suite of managed connectivity, collaboration, and advanced network solutions to entities and businesses outside of the USA looking to connect to the US.

Key elements of the partnership include:

    • Network Extension and Market Access: Improve connectivity between the US, Latin America, Africa, and Europe, strengthening the Atlantic digital ecosystem and enabling faster, more reliable data flows for businesses operating across these regions.
    • Service Expansion: Enable high bandwidth wave services, enhanced offerings in IP transit, local access, dark fiber and colocation, supporting surging demand for digital services, OTT content, cloud computing, and AI-driven applications.

The agreement includes provisions for network capacity expansion to meet growing hyperscale and enterprise needs. This move strengthens Angola Cables’ position as a key player in the global telecom ecosystem while bolstering Uniti’s partnerships with network providers in other high-growth markets.

“We are excited to collaborate with Angola Cables – and their TelCables’ subsidiaries operating in several key markets outside of the US. Facilitating access to our extensive domestic fibre network will open new opportunities for seamless transatlantic services and support the growing bandwidth needs of our shared customers.”

    – Greg Ortyl, Executive Vice President and President of Strategic Accounts, Uniti Wholesale

“By integrating our international backbone with Uniti’s unparalleled U.S. fiber network, we are empowering businesses in Africa and emerging markets with reliable, high-speed access to the world’s largest economy.”

    – Ângelo Gama, CEO, Angola Cables
