Believe In Yourself And Put God First – Davido Advises Up-and-Coming Artistes

    Jul 4, 2026 | Oluwarantimi Oludase

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared words of advice for up-and-coming artistes, urging them to believe in themselves

Speaking during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the singer reflected on his journey, noting that he worked on his craft passionately and constantly sought to improve

Davido revealed that as a young artist, he learned from YouTube and the people around him. He also advised aspiring musicians to love what they do and put God first, especially after achieving success

The ‘Feel’ crooner also warned that there are many distractions that can make one forget that God is the reason they are here

    He said:
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes, is first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me

“Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget he is the reason you are here.”
