Uganda Crested Cranes player Catherine Nagadya has secured a new chapter in her career after completing a transfer to Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly, signing a two-year contract with the club.
The Red Devils confirmed the arrival of the versatile attacker on their official platforms, welcoming her with a message that read: “A new force added to our squad. Ready to make history, Catherine Nagadya.”
Reward for Outstanding Performances
Nagadya makes the switch following an impressive stint with Kampala Queens FC, where she established herself as one of the club’s most influential attacking players. During her time at Kampala Queens, the forward helped the club lift the FUFA Women Super League title before adding the FUFA Women’s Cup to her trophy cabinet in the just-concluded season.
Her consistency, work rate and attacking versatility made her one of the standout performers in Ugandan women’s football.
Before earning her move to Kampala Queens, Nagadya featured for Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and Makerere University, steadily building a reputation as a hardworking and dynamic forward.
Capable of operating anywhere across the frontline, she is renowned for her blistering pace, intelligent movement and ability to trouble defenders in one-on-one situations.
Her development has also been reflected on the international stage, having represented Uganda at the U17 and U20 levels before graduating to the senior national team, the Crested Cranes.
Growing Ugandan Presence in Egypt
The move sees Nagadya become the latest Ugandan women’s footballer to secure a transfer to Egypt, highlighting the increasing demand for Ugandan talent in the North African nation.
She joins compatriots Bridget Nabisaalu, who features for FC Modern, and Phionah Nabulime, currently on the books of FC Masar, further strengthening Uganda’s representation in Egyptian women’s football.
The transfer marks another significant milestone in Nagadya’s career as she prepares to take on a new challenge with one of Africa’s most decorated clubs.
