Kenya’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Isaac Keen Parashina, presenting the First Runner-Up in the Best-Selling Holiday Packages Award category to co-founder/Managing Partner of Diamonds and Pearls Travels Mrs. Wonuola Olatunde-Lamidi

LAGOS – Diamonds and Pearls Travels Limited has clinched two prestigious honours at the maiden edition of the Kenya Airways Holiday Awards Night, reinforcing its position as one of Nigeria’s leading outbound leisure travel companies.

The Lagos-based travel firm emerged as the First Runner-Up in the Best-Selling Holiday Packager category and also received a Certificate of Recognition in appreciation of its outstanding sales performance and collaboration with Kenya Airways throughout 2025.

The awards were received by the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Diamonds and Pearls Travels Ltd, Mrs. Wonuola Olatunde-Lamidi, who attended the ceremony alongside the company’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Mr. David Olatunde-Lamidi.

According to Kenya Airways, the awards recognise the company’s exceptional sales of holiday packages across the airline’s destination network and its sustained partnership in promoting tourism growth.

Diamonds and Pearls Travels has continued to expand its footprint in the outbound travel market by organising group holiday packages to destinations including Kenya, Qatar, Singapore, Vietnam, Egypt, Seychelles and several European countries. The company’s consistent delivery of curated travel experiences has strengthened its reputation as one of Kenya Airways’ key trade partners in Nigeria.

Reacting to the recognition, Mr. David Olatunde-Lamidi said the awards reflected the confidence clients have in the company and the commitment of its team to delivering memorable travel experiences.

“This recognition from Kenya Airways shows the trust our clients place in us and the effort our team puts into crafting travel experiences. To be named first runner-up among so many travel partners is humbling. It tells us we are on the right path,” he said.

Speaking at the awards night, Kenya Airways reaffirmed its commitment to the Nigerian travel market and outlined plans to deepen connectivity between Lagos and Nairobi.

The airline’s Country Manager, Mr. James Nganga, acknowledged the contributions of Nigerian travel companies to the growth of the airline’s operations, announcing plans to increase Kenya Airways’ Lagos service to six weekly flights.

“We are enhancing our connectivity out of Lagos. We are also supporting more business into Kenya because we feel there are a lot of opportunities. We are promoting Kenya as a holiday destination and, more recently, as a medical tourism destination in partnership with Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi,” Nganga said.

The inaugural Kenya Airways Holiday Awards celebrated the contributions of travel agencies and trade partners in expanding holiday travel, strengthening airline partnerships and promoting tourism across Africa and other international destinations.
