    Eritrea: Mai-Nefhi College of Engineering and Technology Graduates 297 Students

    Mai-Nefhi College of Engineering and Technology held its 19th commencement ceremony on July 18, awarding first degrees and diplomas to 297 graduates, with women making up 25% of the cohort.

    A total of 289 students completed the first-degree program, specializing in fields such as Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Mining Engineering.

    The diploma program saw eight students earn qualifications in Computer Application Technology, Computer Hardware and Networking Technology, Electronics Technology, and Mining Technology.

    Mr. Abraha Asfaha, the Minister of Public Works and guest of honor, highlighted the Eritrean Government‘s commitment to the sector, acknowledging that human reaking substantial investments. He encouraged the new graduates to build upon the knowledge gained during their studies through diligence, commitment, and innovative thinking.

    Dr. Araya Zeray, the College Dean, observed that this graduation day represented the culmination of years defined by strict discipline, persistent academic effort, and intellectual development. He stated that the graduates’ future endeavors are grounded in three fundamental principles: fostering intellectual alertness, a dedication to resilient design, and professional service.

    Speaking on behalf of the graduates, a representative affirmed their commitment to utilizing the knowledge acquired for the benefit of their nation and its citizens.

    During the ceremony, medals of merit were awarded to students who demonstrated exceptional performance.
