More coaches from <a href="https://absafricatv.com/presidency-rejects-claims-south-africa-is-isolated-law/” title=”Presidency Rejects Claims South Africa Is Isolated | Law”>South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) are flocking to neighbouring Eswatini’s MTN Premier League for employment opportunities.
Selaotse Mosala was unveiled as Moneni Pirates FC head coach on Wednesday, July 15, effectively becoming the third South African manager in the MTN Premier League.
The PSL’s well-known mentor has found the new job after parting company with another Eswatini domestic league side, Mbabane Highlanders AM FC, last Thursday.
What lured Mosala to Moneni Pirates FC
In an exclusive interview with Pan Africa Football on Wednesday, Mosala confirmed that he has signed a two-year contract with the Manzini-based club after being offered an improved package.
“It is one of the biggest teams in Eswatini, and they have offered me an improved contract. They want to try to be competitive next season. We will see how far we can go. I am looking forward to the challenge, and I will take it from there,” the ex-Sekhukhune United assistant trainer told Pan Africa Football.
Leaving Mbabane Highlanders AM FC
The former PSL’s Casric FC co-coach sounded cool when asked about his abrupt exit from Highlanders AM FC, saying he had moved on.
“We move forward. It is the nature of the business. It is not a new chapter, but it is a new challenge. I was happy to be part of Mbabane Highlanders in two spells. When I came back, the team was fighting relegation, and we finished number five from number 11 with the energy of the supporters and management. We had a good fight together,” he explained.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns scout Floyd Mogale replaced Mosala at Highlanders AM FC on Tuesday, bringing to three the number of PSL-groomed coaches in Eswatini.
Another South African, Mandla Qhogi, is currently at MTN Premier League champions Nsingizini Hotspurs.
