HCL Tech, Noida-based technology firm promoted by S. Shiv Nadar, on Monday (July 13, 2026) announced its foray entry into the full-stack AI market to address the complete spectrum of full-stack business opportunities arising from growing demand for AI-led services and solutions across private sector and government.

HCL Tech, CEO & MD, C. Vijayakumar said this AL data centre venture would be powered by a strategic investment of up to ₹3,500 crore, with the potential to scale to 50MW of capacity. The proposed investment would be made through a new subsidiary of HCL Tech.

“The AI data center investment would be complemented by HCL Tech’s existing capabilities across AI data center design, DevOps and AI cloud operations as well as our software portfolio, enabling a truly integrated end-to-end play,’’ he said in a regulatory filing.

The convergence of AI-led demand, supply constraints and push for digital sovereignty presented a compelling opportunity for the company to emerge as a full-stack AI technology solutions provider, he said later while addressing a media conference.

“Our entry into the AI data center space positions us to capture the full value of this opportunity, as the industry transitions from physical infrastructure to higher-value, AI-ready solutions. Our managed services and outcome-based services to our global clients would also benefit significantly from this investment,” Mr. Vijayakumar said.

India is the among the fastest growing technology markets globally and a growth market for HCL Tech. The country’s data center ecosystem is on a rapid growth trajectory, driven by strong demand from a vibrant digital economy, data localisation and critical infrastructure needs to support GPU deployments for AI training and inference workloads, the company further said adding, data center capacity is expected to grow to 5-7GW by 2030 from the current 1.8 GW, with a significant part of that growth in AI data centers.
