New Delhi, Jul 20 (KNN)Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal concluded a five-day visit to Spain, Belgium, Finland and Estonia from July 13 to 18, 2026, aimed at strengthening India’s economic ties with Europe, promoting investment, improving market access and expanding cooperation in technology and emerging sectors.

During the visit, Goyal held discussions with government leaders, European Union officials, business representatives and industry stakeholders on the early implementation of the India–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), investment facilitation, technology partnerships, manufacturing cooperation and building resilient supply chains.

In Spain, Goyal proposed a ‘10×10×10’ vision to increase bilateral trade, investment and tourism tenfold over the next decade.

Discussions also focused on expanding cooperation in sectors including automobiles, pharmaceuticals, textiles, renewable energy, tourism and infrastructure.

In Brussels, Goyal co-chaired the third India–EU Trade and Technology Council Ministerial Meeting, where the two sides discussed the 2026–27 TTC Action Plan, the early signing and implementation of the India–EU FTA, market access, regulatory cooperation, skills and talent mobility, and cooperation on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).

During his visit to Finland, Goyal invited Finnish companies to expand manufacturing, research and development and digital infrastructure investments in India.

Discussions covered cooperation in artificial intelligence, 6G, quantum technologies, clean energy, circular economy, advanced manufacturing and innovation.

The visit concluded in Estonia, where discussions focused on digital governance, fintech, UPI integration, cybersecurity and emerging technologies. Goyal also encouraged businesses from both countries to expand cooperation in cybersecurity, clean energy and green hydrogen.

Throughout the visit, the Minister held interactions with business leaders, industry associations and investors to promote investment flows, strengthen technology cooperation, improve market access for Indian businesses and support manufacturing partnerships.

The visit also sought to expand opportunities for Indian MSMEs and startups by strengthening business-to-business engagement, facilitating investment and promoting their integration into global value chains and emerging technology sectors.

The engagements are expected to strengthen India’s economic partnership with Europe, support resilient supply chains and create new opportunities for trade, investment, technology cooperation, MSMEs and startups.
