Justin Bieber is heading to the World Cup final

The Canadian superstar has been confirmed as the latest addition to the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final halftime show, joining an already star-studded bill that includes Madonna, Shakira and BTS.

Taking place on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, the performance will form part of the first-ever halftime show in FIFA World Cup Final history. Inspired by the scale and spectacle of the Super Bowl, the production is expected to run for around 11 minutes and is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in partners-with-fastjet-zimbabwe-to-expand-african-network/” title=”Etihad partners with Fastjet Zimbabwe to expand African network”>partnership with Global Citizen.

For Bieber, this is just the latest move in an already crazy year. After returning to the stage with his headline performances at Coachella and launching the ‘SWAG’ era with a series of surprise releases and live albums, the World Cup Final gives him another opportunity to perform in front of a global audience measured in the hundreds of millions.

So, what can you expect from the World Cup final? It’s expected to combine music, football and philanthropy, with FIFA and Global Citizen using the event to support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at expanding access to education and football for children around the world.  Alongside Bieber, Madonna, Shakira and BTS, the show will also feature appearances from Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel, a children’s choir and characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.

If the World Cup Final is already one of the most-watched sporting events on the planet, this year’s halftime show looks set to take it to the next level
