Kolkata football fever: Where to catch the epic midnight final with your squad tonight
    .

When the FIFA World Cup final kicks off just after midnight, Kolkata won’t be asleep. From rooftop lounges and breweries to cafés and dedicated fan parks, the city is gearing up for one last night of football frenzy as Spain take on Argentina. Whether you’re planning to cheer with fellow supporters over craft beer, settle into a lounge with shisha, or soak in the electric atmosphere of a giant public screening, here are some of the best places to catch the action.

If you’re looking for a cosy late-night football adda, Haze Café & Bistro is extending its hours with live screenings of the World Cup final. Staying true to its campaign, “Football doesn’t stop at midnight, neither do we”, the venue will remain open through the match, making it a great option for fans who want to pair the game with coffee, comfort food or a leisurely dinner.

Offbeat CCU is going all out with what it calls one of Kolkata’s biggest FIFA Fan Parks. Expect a giant LED screen, a stadium-style atmosphere, giveaways and dedicated fan zones. The organisers have also introduced multiple ticket categories, including general entry as well as premium passes that include food and beverages, making it one of the city’s largest organised football watch parties.

Park Street favourite Olterra is hosting a midnight screening for football fans who prefer to watch the match over craft beer and cocktails. With reservations open in advance, the brewery promises an energetic atmosphere where supporters can settle in before kick-off and stay on through the final whistle.

The GRID is transforming its space into a football arena for the final, complete with large screens, music and a lively crowd. Fans can expect a high-energy watch party beginning before kick-off, with the venue encouraging supporters to arrive early and soak in the pre-match excitement.

Perched above Park Street, LMNOQ Skybar is screening the final against the backdrop of the city skyline. The venue is combining the match with its signature menu, cocktails and shisha, making it an appealing choice for those looking for a more upscale viewing experience.

Take your FIFA Final experience to new heights at Neuma, the rooftop lounge on the 24th floor of JW Marriott Kolkata. Hosting a special live screening of the Argentina vs Spain final from 12.30am onwards on July 20, the venue promises stadium-like energy paired with panoramic city views, cocktails, and an elevated food menu. If you’re looking to watch football in a lively, upscale setting, Neuma is one of the city’s standout late-night destinations for the finale.

Hashtag is also opening its doors for football fans with a live screening of the FIFA Final from 12.30am onwards on July 20. Promising a larger-than-life screen, an energetic crowd, and a match-day atmosphere designed for passionate supporters, the venue is inviting guests to cheer every goal and celebration alongside fellow football lovers. Table reservations are recommended, as the screening is expected to draw a full house.

Aqua’s poolside setting has long been a favourite for sporting events, and the World Cup final is no exception. The hotel’s giant outdoor LED screen promises a larger-than-life viewing experience, with the poolside venue expected to draw football lovers looking to enjoy the match under the night sky.

Elahi is hosting a late-night screening with extended operating hours for the occasion. The Park Street restaurant is pairing the football action with its extensive food menu, offering fans another indoor option to catch every moment of the final.

Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata is joining the city’s World Cup celebrations with a special screening at Vertex. The hotel has put together a match-day package featuring happy hours, buy-one-get-one offers on selected beverages and 25 per cent off on food. Vertex, Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata

Vertex, the rooftop venue at Fairfield by Marriott Kolkata, is turning match night into a celebration with a live screening of the FIFA World Cup Final from 12.30am on July 20. Guests can catch Argentina take on Spain on the big screen while enjoying a special Match Day package featuring happy hours, buy-one-get-one offers on selected beverages, and 25 per cent off on food. Sabka Club is turning its high-energy bar into a football viewing destination for the final. Expect a giant screen, spirited crowds, cocktails and a food menu to match the occasion. The venue is encouraging fans to come for the game and stay on for the celebrations, regardless of which team lifts the trophy.

Mintelaa at Diamond Plaza is screening the final from 12.30am onwards, offering football fans another late-night venue in north Kolkata. The café and kitchen is pairing the match with food and beverages, making it a convenient option for those looking to catch the action without heading to the city centre.

Beyond restaurants: Kolkata’s football fever goes public

Football fever isn’t confined to restaurants and bars this year. In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the West Bengal government is organising free public screenings of the FIFA World Cup final across the state, turning the night’s biggest match into a community celebration. The flagship screening in Kolkata will take place at the Nandan-Rabindra Sadan-Academy complex, where authorities are creating a stadium-like atmosphere with giant LED screens, seating arrangements and security for fans expected to gather well past midnight. Similar screenings are also being organised at district headquarters and subdivision towns across West Bengal, reflecting the state’s deep-rooted football culture and ensuring supporters who may not be heading to a restaurant can still experience the final together.

Whether you’re cheering for Lionel Messi’s Argentina or Spain’s new generation, one thing is certain: tonight, Kolkata will once again prove why it remains India’s football capital.
