Visitors heading to Kruger National Park are being urged to exercise extreme caution after heavy rainfall caused widespread disruption across the reserve.

According to park management, ongoing wet weather has created hazardous driving conditions, leading to the closure of most roads inside the park until further notice, as reported by The South African.

    Hazardous conditions inside the park

Guests have been advised to avoid low-water bridges, many of which may be submerged or unsafe to cross, and to stay off dirt roads that have become slippery and impassable in several areas.

SANParks has stressed that visitors should strictly obey all road closures and warning signage currently in place.

“The safety of our guests, staff and wildlife remains our highest priority,” park management said, adding that conditions are being closely monitored and updates will be shared as the situation evolves.

Gates remain open but caution urged

All access gates into Kruger National Park remain open, but tourists are encouraged to contact individual rest camps directly for updates on local conditions and available activities.

SANParks has also appealed for patience and vigilance, urging visitors to plan movements carefully and allow extra time while travelling through the park.

Updates will continue to be shared via the SANParks – Kruger National Park Facebook group and other official SANParks platforms.
