Piyin, Santa – A wave of terror swept through the Pinyin community in the Santa Local Government Area, Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia, as six individuals were brutally executed in the early hours of Monday, eyewitnesses have confirmed. The attack, which occurred in Mamben Quarter, has sent shockwaves through the region, which has witnessed a disturbing rise in violent killings in recent times.

According to sources on the ground, the assailants, dressed in military attire, (said to be the Cameroon Military), stormed the area and executed their victims in cold blood. Some reports indicate that the victims were forcefully pulled out of a local bar before being summarily executed. The identities of the slain individuals remain unclear. Still, one of them was observed to have traditional protective charms tied around his waist, while others were in casual attire, wearing flip-flops.

The circumstances surrounding the killings remain uncertain. However, the brutality of the executions has left residents of Pinyin in deep distress, with many fearing that the violence in the region is spiraling out of control.

This massacre comes on the heels of an incident where Pinyin villagers reportedly captured and killed two suspected civilian kidnappers, vowing to confront those responsible for insecurity in the area. While it is unclear if Monday’s attack was in retaliation for this action, tensions have been escalating, and the community remains on edge.

Only a week ago these two were publicly executed by an angry mob tired of being robbed by them

For years, the Northern Zone of Ambazonia has been embroiled in violent confrontations, with military crackdowns, reprisal killings, and armed conflicts devastating local communities. Many civilians have been caught in the crossfire, suffering from extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances, and arbitrary arrests.

As the people of Pinyin mourn their dead, demands are growing for accountability and justice. So far, there has been no official statement from the local authorities. The families of the victims and rights groups want an independent investigation into the killings to determine whether they were carried out by state forces or other armed groups disguised in military gear.

This latest attack underscores the grim reality that continues to define life in the Southern Cameroons/Ambazonia—where communities remain trapped between the brutality of armed conflicts and the impunity of those who perpetuate violence.

ABS News will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as more details emerge.
