Bauchemie is strengthening its presence in Africa by establishing a new facility in Nairobi, named MC-Bauchemie Kenya
The MC-Bauchemie Group has broadened its operations across Africa, marking a new phase with the creation of MC-Bauchemie Kenya in Nairobi. Established in March 2026, this new entity is slated to function as a regional production and expertise hub for the East African market. Shantanu Datta has assumed leadership of the newly formed company.
This expansion highlights MC-Bauchemie’s recognition of the East African market’s strategic significance. “Our local presence enables us to support the growing construction and infrastructure development in the region even more directly and to serve our customers better,” the company said. Beyond Kenya, the new facility will also cater to neighboring nations including Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Sudan.
The facility in Nairobi includes a powder production plant, with future plans for liquid concrete admixture production capabilities, along with storage and logistics zones, and a contemporary quality control and research laboratory. Through these developments, the company is establishing the necessary infrastructure to foster enhanced collaboration with local clients and collaborators.
Shantanu Datta, a company veteran since 2020, will serve as the new company’s Managing Director, tasked with broadening MC-Bauchemie’s market footprint in East Africa and identifying fresh business prospects. Datta possesses considerable regional expertise, partly gained during his tenure as Business Development Manager for Africa, a role in which he previously participated in establishing new ventures in Tanzania and Egypt.
