The Pretoria High Court has struck the MK Party’s urgent application against the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry from the roll.
The matter was heard on an urgent basis this morning, but the court ruled that it did not meet the threshold for urgency.

Zuma-Led Party Challenges Commission and Appointment
The MK Party, led by former President Jacob Zuma, approached the court to challenge the establishment of the commission. The party also contested the appointment of Professor Firoz Cachalia as acting Police Minister.

The court’s decision means the Party’s attempt to halt the work of the commission will not be heard on its merits for now. The commission will therefore continue its operations uninterrupted.
