After shining on global stages, the Mzansi Youth Choir is coming home for two powerful nights of proudly <a href="https://absafricatv.com/south-africa-namibia-push-deeper-energy-and-mining-partnership-law/" title="South Africa, Namibia push deeper energy and mining partnership | Law”>South African music.
The internationally acclaimed choir will light up the Soweto Theatre with its brand-new production, Mzansi Unboundon Friday, 7 August and Saturday, 8 August.
Fresh from performances on America’s Got Talent, at the FIFA World Cup 2026 and collaborations with global stars, the award-winning group promises an exciting show packed with music, dance and proudly South African storytelling.
Music lovers can expect everything from township rhythms and gospel to reggae, African music and contemporary hits.

The choir will also put its unique spin on international favourites such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Paradiseand One Lovealongside local classics such as Angimbonangaand Ijele.
Music director, Sidumo Nyamezele said the production reflects who the choir is today.
“Mzansi Unbound captures the range of who we are as a choir right now — musically ambitious, proudly South African and full of energy.
“It’s a programme that allows us to move across styles while staying rooted in the spirit of live performance,” he said.
Board chairwoman, Germaine Gamiet said the new production marks an exciting milestone for the choir while creating opportunities for young performers.
“Mzansi Unbound marks an exciting new chapter for the choir — one that honours the legacy behind us while looking ahead with fresh creative energy and a deep commitment to the young artists at the heart of this work,” she said.
The production is supported by BBA Liminal and Soweto Theatre.
BBA Liminal co-founder and chief brand architect, Eben Keun said supporting the choir is about investing in young talent.
“A choir is where a community rehearses its own becoming. It is a space where young voices grow into who they are meant to be and that is why we are proud to support Mzansi Unbound,” he said.
