CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) – If you’ve always wanted to see all of the Champaign County African American Heritage Trail sites, there’s now an app where you can view them.
The locations range from historic churches, to murals and parks. People can create personalized self-guided tours or follow curated routes.
Organizers said the app was made to make the trail more accessible and engaging.
“If you’re ever wondering where a trail marker is, you can actually look, and it shows where all the trail markers are within our repertoire of trail markers, and it also points out the points of pride. And the points of pride are spaces and situations that don’t have physical trail markers,” said Heritage Trail Manager Robert White.
The app is available on both Android and iPhones.
