Odisha Jail Security Upgrade: Odisha prisons are getting a major technology boost with AI-based CCTV surveillance systems. AI cameras have already been installed in 20 jails across the state to strengthen security and monitor prisoner activities. The advanced system can alert authorities if inmates move near restricted areas, detect unusual gatherings, and help prevent escape attempts. Along with AI surveillance, modern security equipment like drones, body cameras, deep search metal detectors and mobile phone detection systems are being used. The Jail Development Board meeting also focused on prison modernisation, inmate welfare and better infrastructure including model prisons.
