The future of law in the digital era took centre stage as Parul University’s Faculty of Law hosted the Law Conclave 2026 in New Delhi under the theme “Data, Democracy & the Rule of Law: Legal Challenges in the Digital Era.” The conclave brought together distinguished members of the judiciary, senior advocates, legal scholars, policymakers, academicians and students from across the country to discuss legal issues arising from rapid technological transformation and its impact on the justice system.

The conclave provided a platform for discussions on the evolving relationship between constitutional values and technological innovation. Through keynote addresses and expert panel discussions, participants deliberated on issues including artificial intelligence in the judicial system, data protection and privacy, intellectual property in the digital economy, cyber governance, constitutional accountability and digital evidence. The discussions focused on the need for the law to remain adaptive, ethically grounded and capable of safeguarding democracy in an increasingly digital world.

The conclave brought together serving and former Judges of the Supreme Court of India, Judges of various High Courts, senior advocates, law firm partners, corporate legal experts, policymakers, academicians and aspiring legal professionals to deliberate on the evolving legal landscape shaped by artificial intelligence, digital governance, constitutional accountability and other emerging technologies

The conclave was attended by many eminent judicial dignitaries, including Justice Rajesh Bindal, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice Sanjay Karol, Judge, Supreme Court of India; Justice N. S. Sanjay Gowda and Justice Maulik Jitendra Shelat, Judges, High Court of Gujarat; Justice D. N. Ray, Judge, High Court of Gujarat; and Justice Tejas Karia, Judge, High Court of Delhi. The conclave also brought together well-known senior advocates, corporate legal leaders, law firm partners and legal practitioners from across the country, providing a forum for discussions on the future of justice in the digital era.

During his keynote address, Justice Rajesh Bindal, Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, said:

“A good lawyer is not merely someone who reads more, but someone who has the power to think more.”

Emphasising analytical reasoning and curiosity, he encouraged aspiring legal professionals to cultivate critical thinking as the foundation of meaningful legal practice

The discussions also highlighted the growing role of interdisciplinary collaboration in shaping future legal systems. Speakers observed that emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital governance are transforming legal education, judicial administration, dispute resolution and policymaking. They collectively emphasised that technological advancement must remain anchored in constitutional morality, transparency, accountability and the protection of individual liberties.

Gavel Glory partnered with the conclave to recognise excellence within the legal fraternity through a special awards segment, honouring outstanding contributions to legal practice, scholarship and the advancement of justice. The recognition reinforced the conclave’s objective of acknowledging individuals who continue to strengthen India’s legal ecosystem through excellence and public service

On the occasion, Dr. Devanshu Patel, President, Parul University, said:

“The future of law will be shaped by professionals who are not only grounded in constitutional values but are also prepared to address the complexities of an increasingly digital society. Through the Law Conclave, we want to create a space where legal learning combines with judicial thinking, technological progress, and public policy. Engagements like this empower our students and the broader legal community to think critically, act with care, and participate meaningfully in building a fair, more inclusive, and future-ready legal system.”

Through the Law Conclave 2026, Parul University reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening legal education through dialogue, learning and continued collaboration with the nation’s leading judicial and legal experts. By facilitating discussions on the legal challenges emerging from the digital era, the university continues to strengthen its role in preparing future legal professionals to uphold justice, constitutional values and the rule of law in a rapidly evolving world
