Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya has accused the Ghanaian diplomatic representative of peddling false information and claims that even routine diplomatic engagements have been deliberately misrepresented to fuel a campaign.
Briefing the media in Pretoria on Wednesday, Magwenya said the Presidency has, over the past two months, observed what it describes as a sustained campaign to portray <a href="https://absafricatv.com/sun-pharma-wins-south-africa-approval-to-launch-generic-ozempic/” title=”Sun Pharma Wins South Africa Approval to Launch Generic Ozempic”>South Africa as a “pariah State” following recent demonstrations against illegal immigration.

He said the anti-diplomatic posture from Ghana is surprising.
“And so, it’s surprising why we are continuously experiencing this anti-diplomatic and unconstructive posture coming from some in Ghana. What does encourage us is that there are political leaders in Ghana, in Parliament, who do recognise the challenge South Africa is facing, and who are also very happy at this posture that we see, particularly from the High Commissioner here, who’s representing Ghana and their foreign minister.”
This comes as the government has faced mounting criticism from some African countries over its handling of the protests, which in some instances turned violent.
“We remain comfortable and steadfast in that as a government, we’ve done nothing wrong. As a government, we’ve asserted the supremacy of the Constitution. As a government, we have issued and published a plan to deal with illegal immigration,” added Magwenya.
