The Catholic Archbishop of Pretoria in South Africa has praised the contribution of missionaries from across Africa and beyond, describing them as an indispensable gift to the Church in country and expressed gratitude to countries such as Kenya that continue sending Priests to serve the people of God in Southern Africa.
In an interview with ACI Africa in Nairobi on Thursday, July 16, Archbishop Dabula Anthony Mpako said one of the main reasons for his three-week stay in Kenya was to connect with the Religious Congregations that have generously shared missionaries with his Catholic Archdiocese of Pretoria.
“I decided this time to take a proper annual leave,” Archbishop Dabula said, and explained that the visit to the East <a href="https://absafricatv.com/20-years-of-the-african-court-states-support-is-slow-in-coming/” title=”20 years of the African Court: “States’ support is slow in coming””>African nation also provided an opportunity to deepen ties with members of the Institute of the Consolata Missionaries (IMC) serving in his Metropolitan See and the communities from which they come.

“It is really a time of rest, but also a time of connecting with the place where many of the priests from Kenya, especially the Consolata missionaries who work in Pretoria, come from,” he said, and added, “I needed to see where they come from and connect with the community of the Consolata missionaries here.”
