Qatar Airways is expanding its Africa network with route resumptions, increased frequencies and a new service to Port Sudan.
From 16 June 2026, the carrier will restart four weekly flights to Victoria, Seychelles and twice-weekly services to Kigali, Rwanda, while Marrakesh will return to daily operations from 1 July.
The expansion also includes increased capacity across the continent, with services to Alexandria in Egypt and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania moving to daily operations. The Lusaka–Harare route between Zambia and Zimbabwe and the Maputo–Durban route between Mozambique and South Africa will also increase to daily service.
Services to Cape Town, South Africa, will rise from seven to 10 weekly flights, while Cairo, Egypt, will increase from 28 to 35 weekly flights.
Qatar Airways is gradually rebuilding its global schedule following temporary regional disruptions, aiming to serve more than 120 destinations by the end of May 2026. The carrier is restoring connectivity across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, with flights to Helsinki and Tokyo Haneda resuming from 15 July.

In Africa, the airline will also launch a new route to Port Sudan from 2 July 2026, operating three weekly flights between Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Port Sudan International Airport (PZU).
Flights will depart Doha at 09:00, arriving at 11:00, with return services leaving Port Sudan at 12:25 and landing in Doha at 16:20. The link is expected to strengthen connectivity from markets across the Middle East and South Asia, including Oman and Pakistan.
Other upcoming launches include new routes to Caracas, Venezuela and Bogotá, Colombia, from 22 July, making Qatar Airways the first Gulf carrier to operate the service.
In Asia, the carrier is adding access to more than 40 destinations through its partnership with Philippine Airlines. From 1 June 2026, both airlines will sell seats on each other’s networks, improving connections between Doha and cities across the Philippines, including Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Davao. The airlines are also offering reciprocal benefits across their loyalty programmes, allowing members to earn and redeem miles across both networks.
