Explosive Testimony from KZN Police Commissioner

KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, has taken the stand at the commission, delivering testimony that implicated members of parliament, senior police officials, and influential business figures.

His revelations have already raised serious concerns about corruption and misconduct at the highest levels.

Days into the hearings, the testimony has cast a spotlight on lawmakers, law enforcement leaders, and business executives, fueling public anticipation of the commission’s findings.

    President Emphasizes Transparency and Reform

Expressing concern over the damaging revelations, Ramaphosa vowed that the commission’s outcomes would not be ignored. He highlighted the importance of addressing longstanding issues in the criminal justice system, particularly police conduct.

“It is a very important mandate, and it’s really going to deal with a number of issues that have dogged our criminal justice system, particularly when it comes to the role of police and what has been happening there.

“So, a lot of things will be unraveled, and we do tend to want to have transparency – and thereafter, when the judge gives me the report on a periodic basis, we will be able to examine that report and the recommendations that are made and act on them,” Ramaphosa said.
