Pyramids FC have officially announced the appointment of Rulani Mokwena as the club’s new head coach, replacing Croatian manager Krunoslav Jurčić ahead of the new season.
Jurčić departs after a successful spell in charge, during which Pyramids FC achieved five historic titles: the CAF Champions League, the CAF Super Cup, the Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup, and two Egypt Cup titles.
At just 39 years old, Mokwena has already built a very good coaching résumé, having managed clubs including Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, Wydad AC in Morocco, MC Alger in Algeria, and Al-Ittihad of Libya.
The South African tactician achieved his greatest success with Mamelodi Sundowns, leading the club to five major trophies, including four South African Premiership titles and the inaugural African Football League crown.
He also guided MC Alger to the Algerian Super Cup title during his time in charge of the club.
Mokwena now takes over a Pyramids side aiming to continue competing for major honours in Egypt and on the continental stage.
