The Sharks have secured the services of a Springbok forward for the next three seasons.

The Durban-based club announced on Friday that Vincent Tshituka has put pen to paper, keeping him in their ranks until 2029.

Reports suggest Tshituka turned down lucrative offers from several top French clubs to remain at Kings Park.

The powerful loose forward has become one of the Sharks’ most influential players since arriving from the Lions in 2022, establishing himself as a leader within the squad under both former coach John Plumtree and current coach JP Pietersen.

Tshituka started for the Springboks against the Barbarians in Cape Town last year, before making his Test debut against Italy at Loftus Versfeld.

The DRC-born bruiser quickly earned praise for his physicality, relentless work rate and ability to dominate the gainline on both sides of the ball.

Comfortable across the back row, Tshituka has developed into one of the Sharks’ most consistent forwards and will form part of an experienced core as the club continues its rebuild around a blend of established internationals and emerging young talent.

The Tshituka extension continues a busy week of retention business for the Sharks, who confirmed on Wednesday that Springbok utility back Ethan Hooker had signed a new deal through to 2029.
