    Two Ghanaians don petition di international Criminal Court (ICC) to chook eye for di xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals for South Africa.

    According to dem, dis attacks wey don cause deaths, injuries and looting of shops be crime against humanity, under Article 7 pf di Rome Statute.

    Dr Palgrave Boakye Danquah wey be ex-Ghana govment tok-tok pesin on governance and security togeda wit security sabi pesin Emmanuel Kotin, bin petition di ICC on 15 July, wey dem demand among oda tins say South Africa authorities gatz take serious action now.

    Inside di petition to di office of di prosecutor of di ICC for di Hague, Dr Palgrave and Emmanuel Koti say “di ICC gatz begin preliminary examination into di repeated xenophobic attacks for South Africa wey cause illegal killing s, assault, displacement and destruction of property wey belong to civilians and foreign nationals especially African migrants.”

    Dem also explain say “for years, dem beat our African brothers and sisters wey dem sack odas for dia homes for di kontri.”

    President John Mahama say di African Union (AU) gatz take “active interest for di recurring xenophobic attacks for South Africa.”

    “We bin charter planes to evacuate our citizens for South Africa, wey cost plenty money, we dey charter anoda set to bring back 900 oda citizens.”

    Di president add say “we don pay dis returnees reintegration allowance, I tink di AU gatz take interest sake of e fit scata everitin we don work for to achieve African integration and solidarity.”

    President Mahama say “we go put dis mata for di agenda for di next AU meeting.”

    Di president also dey worried say South Africa authorities no dey treat dis mata seriously.

    “Dem kill two of our citizens, but South Africa authorities no dey respond to di magnitude wey dem for respond to dis mata; dem sabi di pipo wey dey put fire for dis attacks, but dem dey walk free to do wetin dem like wit impunity.”

    Ghana authroities say di death dey connected to di fresh wave of xenophobic attacks and anti-immigration protests, but South Africa police deny dis claim.
