South Africa beat New Zealand in Baltimore and win series for first time in 50 years

South Africa’s rugby team defeated New Zealand 43:28 in the fourth Test match in Baltimore, United States, and won a series against the All Blacks for the first time in 50 years. The South African side won the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry contest 3:1 overall, TimesLIVE reports.
Six South African tries
South Africa scored six tries, while New Zealand scored four. Damian de Allende, Morne van den Berg, Malcolm Marx, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Kurt-Lee Arendse and Cameron Hanekom scored for the Springboks.
Both teams scored two tries in the first half, with South Africa taking a 17:14 lead into the break. The tries by de Allende and van den Berg, after which South Africa led 17:7, were converted. Later, Will Jordan finished a New Zealand attack after 32 phases of play despite a tackle by Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu. Earlier, Jordan made a key break in the move that led to the first try by New Zealand captain Codie Taylor.

Decisive second half
In the second half, South Africa increased the pressure, which their opponents could not answer. Arendse scored an individual try less than 10 minutes before the final whistle, and after the conversion the lead reached 15 points. A few minutes later, substitute Hanekom scored another try.
Marx scored his eighth try in matches against New Zealand and matched Bryan Habana for this tally among South African rugby players. Eben Etzebeth disrupted New Zealand’s line-outs and stole the ball from a maul, while Jasper Wiese was active in breaks. In addition to his try, van den Berg made a break early in the second half.
Feinberg-Mngomezulu converted two tries and kicked a penalty, van den Berg added one conversion, and Manie Libbok added two more. For New Zealand, Ethan Blackadder and Beauden Barrett also scored tries, while Damian McKenzie converted all four of the team’s tries.
